The Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) Programme – T982-001-3:2017 is an 18-month skills-based training designed to equip individuals with the knowledge, competencies, and professional values required to work effectively in early childhood care and education settings.
This programme integrates the Asas PERMATA Course, ensuring alignment with Malaysia’s national standards for holistic child development and quality childcare practices.

APPLICATION GUIDELINES

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

  1. Possess basic 3M skills (Reading, Writing, and Arithmetic)
  2. Be between 18 to 30 years old
  3. Have good mental health (DASS-42 screening may be required during the interview)
  4. Demonstrate an interest in the field of Early Childhood Education

LEARNING OUTCOME – C01

This competency unit establishes structured daily routines that reduce children’s anxiety through predictability. Upon completion, trainees will be able to:

  1. Carry out child receiving
  2. Carry out child grooming
  3. Carry out child meals preparation
  4. Carry out sleeping and resting activity
  5. Carry out early childhood routine care activities
  6. Carry out child returning
LEARNING OUTCOME – C02

This competency unit ensures children develop cognitive and psychomotor abilities. Upon completion, trainees will be able to:

  1. Carry out personality, socio-emotional and spiritual development
  2. Carry out physical and psychomotor development
  3. Carry out early mathematical and logical thinking development
  4. Carry out sensory and environmental understanding development
  5. Carry out language, communication and early literacy development
  6. Carry out creative and aesthetic development
  7. Carry out balanced diet planning and preparation activities
  8. Carry out early childhood special needs integration

This competency unit focuses on instilling positive behaviour and social values in children. Upon completion, trainees will be able to:

This competency unit supports early childhood centre operations and daily childcare activities. Upon completion, trainees will be able to:

  4. Support neglected or abused children
  5. Ensure baby and child safety requirements
  6. Coordinate parent and community involvement activities
LEARNING OUTCOME – C05

This competency unit equips trainees with immediate support skills for child injuries in accordance with standard medical procedures. Upon completion, trainees will be able to:

  1. Carry out injury assessment
  2. Perform Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  3. Carry out immobilisation of injured areas
  4. Perform Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation (RICE) procedures
  5. Administer open wound treatment
  6. Carry out injury referral
